Seeing your Nakamichi BX-1 reminded me of the BX-2 and BX 125 (both of which I still have somewhere), used to record cassettes for use in the car. I no longer use cassette as a prime source medium, though I must have recorded some 200 90minute tapes over the years. Still, seeing your BX-1 brought back happy memories of the time when I discovered that high quality cassette recorders (ones that followed precisely Philips's specification) could make as good a recording as open spool reel-to reel recorders at 7.5ips, but with much greater convenience.
