I like the felt tip used to denote its voltage and phono cartridge use, your buggered if it rubs off

Mission '737'

These are my own personal '737's. These were the speaker that replaced the white faced '727'...They are of course totally mint condition as all my classic gear is..They use the Audax 'TW025A0' tweeter that's still in production today.A time when Mission were cool.

Chosen by the film industry as a standard for location soundtrack recording, these Swiss machines are now discontinued, having been replaced by digital reel-to-reel and hard disc recorders.

Mechanically they superbly reliable, using ruby tape guides and very hard-wearing heads, which rarely wear out. The electronics are also usually very reliable, though ironically my machine has just developed a problem that will probably be expensive to put right.

aye i bid for one of those last year but got burried in the mud

there was extension arms available so you could use bigger reels

Big grab handles and holes for rack-mounting should be compulsory on all power amps

That was the best of the three. the 2 and 1 were rather harsh as I remember. The previous Nytech 252 receiver was a rather flawed but so lovely and endearing classic and once was fitted into a "music centre" style cabinet with, I think, a Garrard Zero 100 turntable.

These machines were made by a group of ex-Nagra engineers. Smaller than the Nagra and in some ways better, these machines never managed to achive the fame and reputation of the Nagras. The only portable machine that I know of that could run at 30ips and had a field-replacable head block. They rarely appear on e-Bay, and when they do fetch higher prices than Nagras. Now no longer made.
