My daughter told me this story today. Some guy who lives out in California had his Facebook page, with a picture of he and his husband, and some guy he’s never met before who lives in Northern Virginia started dropping messages on his page, calling him a faggot and they should kill theirselves, etc.

So, this man in Cali looks up the offender’s page and gets his name, and runs a background check on him, learns he’s on probation, so he calls the guy’s probation officer and shows him the messages he sent! And the guy was on the news, apparently in huge trouble for bullying on the internet. Maybe it’s serious but I had to laugh, what an idiot! Some people can’t stay out of trouble.

Anita was diagnosed with lupus about 25 years ago, but the symptoms all seem to be physical rather than mental - some days she seems absolutely fine, some days she can barely walk but I think the huge variety of meds helps a lot (sleeping pills for night-time to help her body "shut down" and repair itself, steroids to help with repair (although a side effect is that it pretty much doubles the weight gain possible from a given amount). A whole cocktail of other drugs too.

As a result of the lupus, as well as some other stuff, she cannot hold down a job, so has various benefits like a motability allowance, and something called a P.I.P., whatever that is.

I don't know whether her lupus (or it's treatment) has any effect on her mentally as I didn't know her pre-lupus so I have no point of reference. She is a very strong woman and takes this stuff in her stride. She's a good 'un and I love her to bits

Yes there are two main kinds of Lupus, one is Systemic, and the other is the Dermatosis kind. My ex had the second kind. She had these lesions on her skin, and we used steroid creams on them, with limited success. And while she was self conscious about the spots, the Lupus is not what affected her mind.

It was the Zoloft antidepressant drug, it is some very dangerous stuff, and I’ve heard of others who have had this negative effect. A friend of my sister, a man who was a lawyer, had a beautiful wife and two beautiful children. He always seemed so happy and level headed. But for some reason he started taking this Zoloft, and within 3 months his wife took the kids and fled for her life, and he wound up dying in a shootout with the police! It literally says it may cause permanent personality changes as a minor side effect.

This just happened to my drummer! This woman who was living with him, they were engaged to be married. And a few months ago, she pulls a gun on him! And is calling him by someone else’s name, later he learned it was an uncle’s name who died when she was young. He had to slide out the door and called the law, and had her removed from the house! And she is now in jail for something, and still has no idea who anyone is, and threatens to kill everyone! They were happy for a few years I guess, and one day she snapped! I feel for the guy. I know the girl, and there was no hint that she could do this.

I’d rather have a girl I know is a little crazy, than one who everyone thinks is perfectly sane, but isn’t!

For us, LSD always ended nicely. But I think there is a big difference between occasional recreational use, and regular frequent doses of anything. And in the case of the above mentioned drugs, these are not taken occasionally for fun, by otherwise healthy individuals (although we would never have entertained the idea), rather they are there to do a job for people who are unwell. To subject them to this for extended periods would I feel, be like putting a turbocharger in a car with engine faults.

Just my opinion, has no basis in fact.
