I'm not keen on the use of extra bold fonts either. Vintage Marantz is guilty of both.

Vive la difference - I love that Marantz font. It's a real '70s statement, like looking back at Concorde, Jaguar XJS or Charlie George's hairstyle. It says flashy, bold, characterful. I wish MS Word had it.
