I'm in the UK, I used to have a Traxxas E-MAXX RC truck. It was my forum name on the Traxxas forum and it's stuck everywhere since.
Simples
Richard
Mine's pretty simple really... never believed in pseudonyms
Mine is after my chain smoking Aunty Edna...called my cat Edna as she looked like a big cigarette ash...grey fluffy Persian...
Hi Philip,
Welcome to AoS :)
Could you please do me a favour and before going any further, go to the Welcome area and intoduce yourself to our community, telling us what system you use and what music you like, as this procedure is required of all new members - cheers!
Marco.
Archie is the guy in the avatar and when he needs walked SWMBO tells to ask "dad" to take him out.
29029 - the height in feet of Mt Everest / Sagarmatha / Chomolungma.
Life long ambition to go there and climb at least to Advanced Base Camp, at the foot of the Lhotse face at 21 thousand, give or take.
Avatar is how i try to approach things! It was that or a pic of a hamburger superimposed near to a lady's private area.
Debut self titled LP of one of my fav bands (Just the first two albums that is)
The earliest album I could find on Spotify is Sympathy (1976). Listening to it now :)
Thats a compilation LP.
The tracks are from their first two LP's (Self Titled & 'As Your Mind Flies By')
The Compilation tracks are:
Sympathy (1st LP)
Nature's Fruit (1st LP)
Bird On A Wing (1st LP)
What You Want To Know (2nd LP)
Beautiful Scarlet (1st LP)
Hammerhead (2nd LP)
I'm Thinking (2nd LP)
As Your Mind Flies By (2nd LP)
I liked the compilation. Will look out for either of the first albums or the compilation in my travels.
My name here derives from my connection to ice hockey.
Firstly my father was one of the original Canadian imports with the Nottingham Panthers, he also trialled with the mighty Detroit Red Wings, my son started at the age of 3, and I too played, albeit at what is termed recreation hockey.
mine is pretty self explanatory - years ago I decided not to use a pseudonym on web forums. Its a bit late to change it now!
On the third occasion i went to see Pink Floyd they were using some very impressive lighting rigs which give the impression they were floating aound like space ships. they also had devices which eminated from beneath the stage which shone laights aand random lasers. these were known as Floyd droids. Whilst sampling rather a lot of single malt one evening i recalled this story to a close friend who inferred that i myself became such a bore whilst full of such cheer he nicknamed me The Floyd Droid. There you have it.
like to listen to music loud, and I have a feeling that the big sonic hammer banging my head :)
There was an MC in the 90's called Stevie J, my name is Steve Johnson got to college and thats what everyone called me i won't bother explaining the 233 bit its just to boring!
Cos I really did . . .
Long story.
Alex, it really will take ages and I only have iPhone at moment. Let's say that Mandy and me have a bit of history. When I get to a keyboard I'll tell the whole sordid story. If I can be arsed I'll also tell you about his favourite crisps, his annoying eating habit, his stripey pyjamas and the truth about the mushy peas/avacado dip story. Oh and there's plenty more I can divulge about the Prince of Darkness. Piece of shit more like.
Wow - look forward to it - just don't forget this is a public forum! :)
Alex, no worries about it being a public forum. I called him a liar in print more than once and he didn't sue.
Is this what they call thread drift? Or is that something to do with turntables?
Maverick : "An unusual person who has different ideas and ways of behaving from other people, and is often very successful" in, Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English
As far as I know me, I'm kind of marginal in wich concerns to "sheep" behaviour ;) I ride a motorbike since ever, I flew helicopters, (not anymore) I love non-commercial and non-convencional music... :D
mine is tale of leaves and fire...

I've been asked yet again about my user name. It's a long story and I don't want to bore people with it. This is, after all a hifi forum. But if people are interested I'm happy to tell all.
I used to be a newspaper editor and had the 'pleasure' of Peter Mandelson popping in to see me every couple of weeks.
As well as being an odious piece of shit with the limpest hand shake I've experienced, the Prince of Darkness is a bit fussy when it comes to drinks. Won't have tea or coffee but must have hot water with a slice of lemon in.
Day before he came was due in my secretary used to nip out to buy a couple of lemons. On day of his lordship's arrival she brought sliced lemons and jug of water to my office.
Couple of hours later when the obnoxious bastard had gone I used to walk out into the newsroom sucking on a lemon.
Someone always 'bought it' and said 'urgh how can you suck a lemon?'
My reply was always the same 'I needed to get the bitter taste of talking to that piece of shit out of my mouth'
I can guarantee that sucking lemons laced with powdered glass and fish hooks would be preferable to talking to Mandy.
Hope it was worth waiting for.
And so it all becomes clear...
Excellent, Harry. And so a handle is born...
Thanks Harry, great story, :) what got me thinking was though it's a long user name, i get the drift right away the first time i clapped eyes on it,
unlike some you have to decipher it but how can you suck a Lemon?. :vomfest:
It's like any form of training. A couple if hours with Mandy and a gobful of festering cat shit would be palatable.
Oh, I could tell you stories . . .
So you like him, then?
Martin, I've yet to find anyone who liked him.
Have you heard how Dennis Skinner put him down?
It was when Mandy first got into parliament. He was standing by a call box in one of the corridors as Skinner approached
MANDELSON: Could you lend me a 20p coin. I need to call a friend.
SKINNER: Here's 40p. Ring ALL of them.
Isn't that 40p too much?
Oh, I could tell you others involving Kettle Chips, mushy peas, a visit to a greasy spoon cafe, striped pyjamas, my sons missing homework etc etc etc. one day I'll get my arse into gear and write a book.
Wii. It's actually mostly written. Just need to get a publisher and the motivation to get it finished.
Getting a book published is more difficult than ever. Most publishers want celebrity bollocks or tat like Shades of Shite
My friends used to and still call me Hoove, so its the first letter of my first name and my nick name.
Regards,
Jim
Many years ago when my girl friend (now wife) came round I was always in the loft. Her brother started calling me Loftman. When I needed an email address I chose Loftman as a user name for an email forwarding outfit (Bigfoot - very good) & it's stuck ever since.
What were you doing up in the loft, I wonder - THAT is the question! :eyebrows:
Did you have some scud mags up there? ;)
Marco.
