 That's a good one Geoff.

Record shops are pants, I don't miss them one bit. Overpriced stock and in shitty condition, there might be exceptions, new vinyl is shite too. Ebay absolutely rules for me, money back guarantee is excellent. I reckon the ones in the US are different though, so much stock, must be more competitively priced.
Paul Young was just on BBC News, not heard much about him for a while. One of the better pop acts of his time I guess. He's well in his sixties now and definitely has a proper boozer's face by the look of him, mind you the hair seems to be doing well, is it transplanted? :)
(he seems to have got over being burgled by Gino D'Acampo :D)
Eh?
I saw Paul Young in about 1987 when he was supporting Genesis at Leeds Roundhay Park. His voice was knackered then - maybe he was just having a bad day, I don't know. I think even in those days before autotune was a thing, the studio could still polish a turd, but no hiding it when your voice has to fill a giant space. He was already known for liking a bevy or two.
Seems he got his act together and got better with his singing. But I think the fags and booze had already done for his face.
As for Paul's hair - it's amazing what you can do with a leftover bit of Astroturf and a tin of Cherry Blossom :)
Check it out.

Yes there's that I suppose. And the dump I had this morning is the best since the one I had on Tuesday.
Perhaps he could do a spin-off show, "Celebrity Family Fortunes Gone Missing", or "Shed Contents of the Not-yet Famous".
Hmm. Could pull down the remains and put up a block of council flats, the area is short of social housing! :D

i see tony bennett has died, 96 years young... a jolly good lifespan and a great performer...rip
Bit of a painful start to the week. First, a wasp which had landed on the back of my arm decided, with no prompting from me, to leave me a parting gift before buggering off. No need!
I'd read somewhere that they are attracted to perfumey smells like deodorants, and it was a couple of inches from me armpit. So contrary to the advertised claims, Sure will let you down :( I think I'll go smelly and sweaty for what's left of the summer.
Then later I used my impact driver to send a large woodscrew into my little finger. That bled a lot, and is still throbbing. Got a giant plaster round it now, so I can't bend it. Drinking tea like a posh person...
Tomorrow I'm back up on my mate's roof doing repairs. What could possibly go wrong? Though they do say things come in threes
Last night I had another of a recurring dream (3 or 4 times this year) where I am really good at skateboarding. A psychiatrist would probably say it's a midlife (or more likely late in life) crisis. I'd go along with that if it was something I regret letting passing me by, like surfing or learning to play piano, but skateboarding? Not on your nelly.

 Blimey! Apparently I'm intelligent, talented, productive, brave, strong and ambitious. And I just thought I was losing my marbles :) I also frequently dream about skiing without skis, I'll see what they make of that one... Edit: they have nothing to say about that, so maybe I'm mental after all.
There is no interpretation of dreams. These days Freud's theories are just out of date
Dreams are simply the interruption of the brain's transfer of information from the short term memory (most of it trivial and unimportant) to the long term memory, filtering out the trivia.
That is why dreams, which may appear significant to you, when related to second party have no interest to them.
So let me get this right: will the information you have just imparted transfer from my short term memory to my long term memory when I go to sleep tonight? And if I don't dream about what you posted, does this mean I see it as important?
Did I perhaps harbour a wish to be a good skateboarder, but with my brain saying "Yeah, in your dreams" that wish didn't make it to my long term memory? That could explain why I don't recall having any interest in skateboarding...
Dreams are our brains tuning in to alternate dimensions/realities where you happen to be a world class skateboarder and perfectly capable of competing in slaloms without skis.
Cheers Guy, I prefer your explanation, makes my brain hurt less :)
Barry - I take your point about recounted dreams being boring to others, I know this from having heard others recount theirs. So I'll just go back to reporting on the weather in Chorley, because that's what everyone wants to read about :ner:
I think it might have rained a bit last night, because the grass is wet. Though it could just be dew :) Currently 12C.
Information filtration and transfer occurs during the REM period of your sleep. It is only if this process is interrupted do you 'dream'.
Dreams are not important; there is no point in trying to remember them, let alone "interpret" them.
I don't believe dreams are our joining some sort of universal consciousness, or some alternative reality or dimension.
What you eat can affect dreams. Some cheeses apparently influence this, as can mushrooms (they can contain trace amounts of hallucinogens). Medications and herbal 'remedies' may have some effect on dreaming (don't try Skullcap). So can booze.
i usually only dream, that i recall, when im needing the toilet badly and still asleep. i always dream of something nasty and dirty like blocked toilet drain lol. it seems to be my way of waking myself up.
skateboarding? i'd think your age is on back of your mind and you don't like it much:D

Had that one last night - at a party at my parent's house, desperate for a slash, big queue for the bathroom. Walked out onto the street thinking I would use one of the neighbour's bathrooms, but there was nothing except industrial dereliction in either direction.
Realised I was only wearing boxer shorts and my school blazer. Went back inside, went in the kitchen where an aunt and one of my brothers were doing the dishes.
Woke up absolutely bursting.
The missus was due back from a few weeks in Kent today, so I did the Tesco run earlier (and dropped by Home Bargains for dog food, much cheaper than Tesco). Then my wife phones and says she's not coming back yet. Now I'll have to figure out what to do with all the extra fresh food I picked up .
just put an order into morrisons again.. i fancied a change after tesco was sending me poor dates on stuff. a bit dearer but not too much. at least im getting 5 days on a chicken now etc
Flippin' cheek sending short dated stuff to home delivery customers, bet it's deliberate too.
They're all as bad - we no longer buy milk from the Co-op, as it was going 'off' at least a week before the 'use by' date.
Can get away with it on cereal for breakfast, but when used in a hot drink it will curdle.
Save money and do it this way:

At least you will know what to expect :)
i dont really eat expired food much lol.. has a habit of upsetting my bidet:eek:
No good my buying a Morrisons food box, it's bound to contain items I don't eat. I have particular, largely vegetarian tastes.
The only expired stuff I consider eating is crisps and biscuits, anything else is too iffy in my book.
Some hippy bastard just pushed me in the street, so I punched him in the back of the head. I'm 6ft 2" and only 70kg so he probably thought I was pushover, which I am, but still, he didn't come back for more.
Bloody modern hippys can't even do the peace and love thing properly.
Was the 'push' deliberate?
You did the right thing, immediate retribution is the only answer. Getting the police involved is as ineffectual as just shrugging it off, and just puts you in the frame for prime suspect if you later decide to sort things yourself.
Long term you might consider moving away from Brighton, which seems to have no redeeming qualities.
I spent three days there once living in someone's garage, I don't have fond memories.
Umm ‐ so some social history at least. :)
