Agreed from what i have heard certainly not good SPPV, the same goes for the TL10's, i had my pair fully serviced complete with new old stock Mullards and still found them a bit well "dull" so sold them on, the stereo 20 pisses all over them

I'm getting seriously effing miffed with eejits that try to re-foam drivers, make a right pigs ear of it then try & flog them for top dollar :brickwall::steam: :wanker::donk::spank:

The radial ribbing is due to the cone construction. The cones are built up from strips of doped paper/material.
I've heard a pair of the earlier field coil versions in a large open baffle that were paired with radial horns and I was amazed at how fast fast and detailed the bass lines were. They are also quite a large driver at 19".
Well I suppose it's better than scrapping them. I've put new surrounds on speakers with very acceptable results. Those Heybrooks look as though they may have been done right and I suppose it's up to the individual to decide whether they're worth the asking price. Not that I'd pay that much for them myself.
Since when would a bit of recent Chinese electronics be regarded as "vintage"?

Beefy pair of EMI elliptical 8 ohm bass drivers in excellent condition at a good price! Nice.
I have used this driver and they are pretty punchy.

are these any good? Always liked the look of them and its only down the road from me.
How would it compare to my NADC320BEE?
Can't tell from the descriotion if it's a Mk. I or a Mk. II model. Fellow AoS member André, is the best person here to comment. (I believe he has a few of them!)
Probably better made than your NAD and it's British, but it will have the late '60s, early '70s sound to it.
Apparently these are "Wolfdales" and they sound "Orsom"!

Rare and reputedly very good Supex SM-100 Mk.III, MM cartridge. I've had the MCs, but not tried one of these.

Very rare Videoton Saphir 1 speakers. Same tweeter as the Minimax, but an 8" bass/mid unit instead. These look in nice condition.

I've had a Supex MM but not that one. I thought it was lovely. One of the best MMs I've ever heard. Can't remember the model, but it was slimmer than this one. They usually fetch high prices now.
Very classy looking and pricey Japanese valve pre-amplifier made by Astor. Anybody know anything about this company? There are other interesting Astor products listed too.

Never mind the price but are these good sounding speakers?

I'd love this, Sony PSX9, possibly my ultimate turntable, but not at that price!

Consonance Cyber 10 amp - great buy for someone, looks to be near mint.
You'd want to change the Sovteks to get the best out of this.

Something . . . not quite right . . . here . . .

Battenburgh to the first to spot it!
Two single speakers sold as a pair. Not sure if it's two of the 'left' or 'right' though ...
Just got myself another interesting little bargain. A pair of late sixties 8" Eagle A-7 full range drivers. These were actually made by Coral for Eagle and are of high quality. I got a reduction on the postage, so the pair cost me less than £18! Nice.

Here's your Battenburg Julian.
They're two 'rights'. And they've been crushed - but still ok.
Read a masterclass in 'Pidgin Inglish'.
This little Chinese valve pre-amp has an amazing description. You won't make much sense of it.

These are good little speakers. Very ideal for bedrooms.
Of course there are better speakers, but for little money these are good!!

these are a bit of a bargain if anyone lives nearby , 1978 sb-x5 phase linear , good solid bass with detailed top end ,, the only reason i am not buying them is the missus has said "no more speakers" and i already have a pair of these as my mains
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3009291752...84.m1423.l2649
i have 3 pairs of them , 2 x uk spec 1 x pair from dubai so not uk spec ,, they have different crossovers and are rated at a 91db efficiency , the uk spec are 89db eficiency , they are quite an impressive speaker , in my opinion they have a good warm sound not at all harsh like a lot of jap stuff , i run mine on a technics su-7700 ,,,they match well with this amp and give very nice lows:) i also have the sb-x1 same range but the babies and 2 way sealed cabinet again very nice incredible bass for their size.
did you buy them?? ,if you did let me know what you think , they are very cheap at £40 i bought my last pair for £160
More daft pricing. £260 for an MF, X-PSU? I expect somebody will want badly enough.

Can somone ban anything starting with 'T'?
What a mess! These are a complete 'bastard' in every sense of the word. Total horrors.
The compression driver ripped off the back of a Tannoy DC, old unmatched bass drivers, nasty piezo tweeters, a big hole in the front and terminals on the baffle, all in what may have been Ditton 44 cabinets. God knows what they sound like.
