    As its an early open frame version I reckon about £1,800.

    IMHO not worth that much but they bring big kudos in Hong Kong.

    Pricey by any standards. I don't know these, what is the radial 'ribbing' on the bass cones?

    Just been a bit naughty and bought these:

    L Cao, full range 8" drivers. I'd been considering a pair for months and this was the last pair left, so it had to be done.

    They are a development of the fifties Mitsubishi Diatone speaker design. These are better known in the US and seem to have a bit of a cult following. Quality is regarded as very good. The optional use, equalisation filter is probably not needed in horn enclosures, which tend to correct for upper mid forwardness, as per Lowther. I just hope these sound less coloured than the Lowthers I've used.
