We’re out for a meal tonight to the Coach and Horses in Woodbridge, which is her choice as we have been there many times for family meals and celebrations. But because we made a bit of a weekend of it, I gave her the choice of meals for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday she chose her second favourite meal - Beef Wellington - I should have cut it in half to show the steak and filling, but that would have spoiled my air vent “design”! :lol:

I used to 'lily' tomatoes like that, but as it didn’t affect the taste, one way or another, I stopped. BTW, what is the green vegetable near the mushrooms? Spinach?

Indeed, but in my experience, there are many thousands of Brits just like you, so that doesn't say much for the 'broader palette' you claim is the case for British food culture.
