Perhaps all you good folks might like to read a little something from the AoS Library this week?
How about:
A Short History of Early Ortofon Pick-Up Cartridges
http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4205
Hats off to Barry for a fascinating & well researched piece.
You can't reply to that thread I'm afraid, but maybe a good place for discussion of the subject would be this one:
Classic Cartridges
....which was Andre's thread (number 258) from February 2008.

See, I'm dedicated to giving you maximum value for money of a Sunday night!
Just a few threads to remind us what a great contributor our friend Andre has been to the Art of Sound since it's been online. We all hope he'll be back at sometime in the future (not too long, please).
Andre's first post was on the 23rd January 2008 as 'Vinyl Grinder' on thread Number 13:
http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13
The Art of Sound was 2 days old!!
Of course, the place that was Andre's own was the 'Spinning Today' thread (no offence John) where all of us learnt about new music that had evaded us all of our lives till we met Andre.
Just take a look at a few random pages there & see what an impact he made.

Cheers Andre, mate.
What a beautiful tribute, come back Andre.
PROG RULES....:rave:

What's happened to him?
Right then, now Andre's back we can get back on track.
What's that you say?
You didn't realise this was planned out for months in advance with timelines, targets, KPI's, hidden agendum & complicated spreadsheets?
No.....thought not!
Well, just to say that this thread has now passed it's 1st birthday - I did wonder whether this week it should be this thread that gets to be the thread of the week, but that would just be silly. Anyway, I strive & sweat and worry about how best to serve you with high class goods once a week - that's exactly why I don't generally use any of my own threads!
So this week's thread of distinction is this one:
Are We The 'Poor Relation' in Audiophile Land?
It was posted by a member called doodoos, thread number 538 from May 2008

As usual, comments relevant to the original post should go onto the thread rather than here.
If anyone has suggestions for suitable threads, they should PM me.
Well last week's offering dodn't exactly take off. Maybe this one will do a bit better.
Gary posted this in May 2009 and I was surprised that it had so few replies, maybe there are a few more opinions and experiences on offer this time?

Well, I always loved Tandberg receivers, having, as they do, some of the best FM tuners ever made tucked away in those massive wooden chassis'. So this thread is a 'bit of a thing' for the likes of me.
This was thread number 772 posted by Rune - ULFSN, back in July 2008
The great sounding TANDBERG!
