Afel Bocoum, Damon Albarn, Toumani Diabaté and Friends – ‘Mali Music’
Damon Albaran does for Malian music in Bameko, what Peter Gabriel did in Timbuktu, but nowhere near as successfully. Ignore the murky sound of the first track, the rest of the record gets better.
