Check it out, mate. They're usually folded up in big piles in the menswear section. I wouldn't buy anything else from Matalan, but I find their plain t-shirts pretty good, and mostly use them as 'vests' for underneath shirts or jumpers. They wash and hold their shape well, too.

I'm wearing a nasty grey 'Fruit of The Loom' example at the moment. It's been washed many times and is now nearly skin tight from shinkage and is about as thick as a fag paper. Useless.

They're cack. I've had them before. The ones in Matalan are at least twice as thick and more than half the price!

Matalan. Can't believe it. Why not go the whole hog and buy your clothes from Ethel Austin? Do they still exist? My mother bought all our clothes from Ethel Austin and C&A. That was before Matalan. Then when I left home couldn't afford proper clothes so used to wear army surplus. Shirts for ten bob, keks for a quid. The shirts had name badges on, usually some bizarre German name. But you could unpick that.

As a result I only wear designer gear now, sportswear mostly, like a proper chav; but I do it ironically so I think that is okay.

Lol... I wear all manner of t-shirts, some designer and some basic, such as those [shock, horror] from Matalan. If I'm working in the garden or just bumming about the house, why waste something 'fancy'?

And when they're done, they make great dusters!

You haven't seen my bonfires mate.

Couple of months ago, I filled the incinerator with dead branches, sprayed the whole lot with WD40 and a drop of cellulose thinners, stood well back and tossed a match in. The resulting 'BOOMPH' shook the whole neighbourhood.
