It's the OPs choice. If in doubt, use Audio Mart UK and HiFiforsale, preloved, gumtree. Plenty of ways to sell. I think there may even be a SonyES forum in Germany. They'd snap your hand off.

I don't think it is paranoid. Check out the number of ebay sellers who will not ship abroad, there are reasons for that and one of them is scammers. There are people scamming eBay sellers for a living. They are professionals and they know all the dodges. When there are other, much safer ways to sell, why risk it?

Agree selling it on Audio Mart UK or HiFiforsale, or on the ES forum is a much better bet
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

Question is what sort of figure should I ask if selling as complete package?

They're very rare. Have a look on hifishark for previous sales. Might give you an idea.

Yes, which you've done now on more than one occasion, so any further mention of such could be construed as a 'thread crap'

The same would apply had Mike just bought the gear he's selling, and you came on and similarly 'rained on his parade' about what could potentially go wrong with it, when all he wants is to enjoy himself.... Ya gets me?

He didn't start a thread entitled: 'What could potentially go wrong with vintage Sony Esprit gear?' He's simply after advice on how best to sell the stuff his dad had.

If it was me I'd start at £10K and work down from there if there are no takers at that level. But I would sell it all separately, would shift faster I suspect.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Like the sound of that could be very handy since I only have UK pension to 'survive' on!
