Now Screening - What Are You Watching Right Now?
In the lead up to xmas, watched the Highly underrated 70's version of Scrooge starring Albert Finney in title role. A few songs in this but dont detract tbh. Many well known actors in this adaptation. Finney was very good actor indeed and oft forgotten now.

Best version of Scrooge is your Alistair Sim effort by a country mile (non-colourised version, mind), but then I think we say that every year.

Just watched 'Support Your Local Sheriff' (1969) on Movies for Men, with James Garner, Jack Elam and Joan Hackett. A real treat, A comic western done to perfection. Garner was always great at this sort of role. The whole cast is terrific.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

The Osterman Weekend
OK film, with less of the gratuitous sex and violence you would expect from Peckinpah.
The Big Sleep
Not as good as the Humphrey Bogart version, but Robert Mitcham makes a good fist of this. Directed by Michael Winner – so you know what to expect.
Heat and Dust
A Merchant Ivory production – gorgeous to look at, good acting and an interesting storyline. Julie Christie stars, so it can’t be all bad.
The Color Purple
Dir. Steven Spielberg and starring Danny Glover and Whoppi Goldeberg and Oprah Winfrey. Tough, moving but no-nonesense film set in post-emancipation America.
