Mmmno, I don't think so. I usually find that my audio memory is reliable.
I'm not saying you'd be hugely impressed, although you would like it I feel sure - the combo doesn't (quite) have the awesome dynamic sweep of the Parasound or the kick-slam power of the Krell, but it doesn't have the Krell's brightness or the Para's slightly laidback vagueness and warm feel, either.
The detail and focus is nowt short of superb from the Philips. And 100wpc is fine as far as I am concerned.
It's pretty much spot-on for me.
I wonder what will come along next.![]()

Yep, I know, astonishing. A real pain in the butt. They have made me stop looking at amp adverts.Where's the fun in that?
I bought the Black Turnip power amp the very end of August this year after having been very impressed with the BT pre-amp bought here on AOS on a whim, so over 3 months now and I am still deeply in lurv with it.
There is real synergy with the Turnip pre-amp as well - neither is as good without the other.
I can go direct into the power amp for pretty much all my listening, but it actually sounds better with the pre in circuit.![]()

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”
“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I nearly bought a Turnip pre and power from Emporium back when they used to ask reasonable prices, 15 years ago or so. So although I done on the amplification front now I still have a hankering. Plus I think they have got 'the look'; great aesthetics.
Current Lash Up:
TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.
