Still got these to try out. Modern Chinese L Cao alnico 8" units, based on the classic Mitsubishi Diatones from the sixties.

The design and finish on these is outstanding. Note the vented rear spider. No compression effects.

I recognise that cabinet design. I have the plans for it. Karlson I believe.

That certainly is old. My dad had loads of stuff like that knocking about. He was an electronics wiz. Knew his stuff.

My last job somewhat later was in a similar field, more to do with Defence Microwave Technology though. Most there thought I was an electronic wiz, but in truth, I struggled a lot. My qualification was actually in Mechanical and Production Engineering, and I didn't know that much about that either.

Interesting pair of speakers I've just found. Search "Large executive speakers" and you're away.

They look to have decent drivers for their period.

Early KEF B139 with foam surrounds and Celestion HF1300 or similar model. I believe Radford made a speaker like this in the late sixties. They won't sound very nice. The B139 is hopeless at anything above 500Hz.
