Possibly the bass unit surrounds rotted, tweeters salvaged and some other bass units in the large cabinets.

That's most likely. The 295 8 had foam surrounds that rotted pretty fast, unlike the 295 A which has rubber roll surrounds and seem to last indefinitely.
Shame really. They could have been repaired easily enough. I just happen to have a box in this room containing two ten inch paper Tannoy cones with rubber surrounds that would have gone straight in.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

You know what gets up my back when you Enquire about something but get replies 3/4 days in between your initial enquiries.. The excuse is always 'I have a life outside the computer!
Utter rubbish.. people with computers are generally on them at least everyday + the fact if i knew someone was interested in something i was selling i am sure i would go out my way to check in regular..
