Well if that is the case then I'll swap them over for now till I sort them out properly.

That's what I read too and if it is will surely bring a smile to my face

I'd suggest replacing both at the same time for consistency and I'd double check with the supplier that the impedance match is correct should you be interested in them.
I did see these but didn't think it was what I needed... So if I replace the diaphragm it will hopefully be sorted? That'll be something I'll be willing to have a go at.
Have little knowledge about this and learning as I'm going which mostly i'm learning from here reading threads by other users, very informative I must say.

Rather nice Audio Technica AT-1005 arm on a Connoisseur BD1 turntable. In Aylesbury. Bid up to £53 so far. Ends tomorrow and could be going cheap.

But they are destroyed Grant. The back of the drive unit is poking out of the rear of the small top box, so obviously the main cone chassis has been removed leaving just the magnet and tweeter. Who knows what's in the bigger box? Presumably a bass driver being driven from the Tannoy crossover.

I'd think you are right. Somebody will have them. God knows what they sound like.

Aye, it looks like it, but it may be that the originals are in big box and the tweeter doesnt work, and picked up another set vis-a-vee

That's a possibilty, but weird. The big boxes by the way, are Chevening cabs. From which the HPD 295 8 units were taken I assume.
