Or are there items for sale in the classifieds that the asking price isn't that far removed from the RRP?

I'm not saying who or what, as I have no intention of thread crapping, more just making an observation, and thinking to myself "good luck getting anywhere near your asking price"

Back in the good old days, an asking price usually started perhaps around half price of what the RRP was, I've seen some that are up almost to 80%, and it's not as if they were only very recently purchased.

I know one dealer that usually gives 1/3 of RRP, to then sell at around 50 to 60% of RRP, and bearing in mind he has to stick a warranty and money back guarantee on it, seems more than fair.

Yes. I've noticed it too. Still, people can ask what they like. Whether the item sells is another matter. It's up to the purchaser to do their research if need be.
