Should mention I am bringing the NVA P90SA passive pre and the Firebottle AIR power amp.

Good job it is a big room - if it was still in the old place upstairs once we got all the gear in there would be no room for us.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

    Default Phono stage bake off

Chaps, which turntable shall we use for the phono stage bake off?

More importantly, which cartridge are you going to use?

It would be surprising if one cartridge would suit all of the phono-stages and changing cartridges nullifies any direct comparison between them.

Well, my view about this is that organisation is good but more often than not spontaneity can be better. Maybe the phono bake off needs to happen with the tools available at the time with the best of what we have. My vote would have been March's 1210 beast cos it is flipping lovely and the Edingdale speakers. From a speaker point of view though there will be no shortage of choice or quality. I'm starting to get rather excited about it. Keeping things flowing will be the success of the day methinks.

Not sure at the moment but all of the phono stages are set for mc. Probably Marco's Decca. What are you bringing along Norman?

See how things pan out and maybe take a straw poll on the system for the phono bake off?
One of these days... I'm going to cut you into little pieces.

Most likely a Technics SL-1000 (SP-10 mkII in an Obsidian plinth) with an SME M12R and a couple of cartridges, probably a Fidelity Research FR-7 and not sure about the other, but perhaps a Koetsu Rosewood Signature. The Koetsu has 0.4mV output, but the FR-7 is only around 0.15mV, so may need a SUT (I can bring a SUT, if neccessary)
