Ha - well it's interesting that you ask, Rich... I'm currently listening to the Croft again, after many weeks of my ears being 'attuned' to the sound of passives, so that's rather interesting and informative, to say the least. The differences really hit you (especially between active and passive) when you return to a 'known reference'!

I'm also in the process of doing a write-up of my experiences with the passives in question, and what I've heard from the Croft, in comparison (along with NVA SSC/Belden 1800F and Klotz MC5000s), so all will be revealed on the Goldpoint thread in Blank Canvas in due course

Will bring the Slagle AVC passive, two box Firebottle phono stage and Denon HA1000 head amp.

If vinyljunky Steve brings the Icon Audio passive and Macca brings his NVA we'll have a plethora of passive preamps lol.

We'll defo do that, dude. The Goldpoint is still somewhat 'work in progress', but still sounds excellent (at least it does here, and in Ian and Duncan's system). However, ultimately I want to have it fitted with Z-Foils throughout. I suspect when that's done it will be stunning!

Indeed, Jim. Please do that anyway, as it's always useful reading things from someone else's perspective, especially as you'll be evaluating everything in a totally different system.

Yes, it looks that way. Great line up for the day in store. All corners of this crazy pastime will be represented. We can also add to the list my Benchmark DAC1 HDR which will be handling pre duties in my rig.

Your second name wouldn't happen to be Clegg would it Norman?
