    Default Clive's system

Now that my room is more presentable here is a pic of my listening room and list of kit currently in use:

I'll get around to taking more detailed pics.....sometime!

    - S&B TX-103 step-up for the MCs
    - Meridian 588 CDP & Foobar / ASIO4ALL USB into Beresford 7520 DAC
    - S&B TX-102 TVC pre
    - Burson Audio Buffer to feed the solidstate bass amps (impedance matching)
    - XTZ Sub Amp 1 (2) bass amps with DSP
    - Diyhifisupply LadyDay WE91 300B monoblocks, WE300Bs

Wow Clive respect, what a nice set up and room.

Are those valve amps behind the speakers, are they sitting on subs ? Would that not create issues with vibration ? Just a thought/question. I would very much like to see more photos as this shot just frustrates a bit as to what else you have that can't be seen. Please post soon.

    Your wish is my command!

The valve amps sit on top of the bass amps, the bass speakers are separate. Putting the valve amps in this position was actually a significant upgrade in sound quality that I wasn't expecting.

Here's one of the bass amps - this includes DSP which I set up using a calibrated mic and software for my laptop.

    Phono stage:

    Phono stage power supply:

Garrard 301 with Trans-Fi Terminator arm and London Jubilee

TVC pre installed inside an old WAD preamp chassis and Burson Buffer to drive the bass amps:

    LadyDay WE91 300B:

Non-symmetrical W-frame dipole bass - 18 inch driver - the OSB cabs are a bit rough 'n ready but look ok in the flesh:

Swiveling tweeter experiment - works rather well

Wow - quite simply stunning - I think Neil has designs on your designs for the COMMAND BRIDGE OF THE DALEK BATTLE CRUISER NEW SKARO!

And nice to see one of my favourite ladies in the pictures of the turntable! Does the arm require much maintenance? Are the two black "cords" the interconnect?

    Very impressive Clive!

clive, that looks like a stuning set up! you have probably forgotten by now but I did ring you a good while ago to ask if it was possible to come over one day to have a listen. I still hope to if you are ok with the idea?

Oh, Sam Brown - Stop great stuff!

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

Steve - yes I do remember and I'm still fine with the idea.

Alex, yes interconnects. The arm is very low maintenance, it's just different different to use an setup. Actually setup is easier than a pivoted arm as each setting is done totally independently, ie you don't skew the cartridge when setting null points (not that null points exist for the cartridge).

I must give Sam a clean, I already had the CD, I bought Stop on 2nd hand vinyl on Saturday from Sifters in Burnage,

What can I say. Thanks Clive for the extra photos WOW and DOUBLE WOW. I would love to hear what your set up and similar sound like, but alas not being on the main land makes that impossible at the minute.

Indeed Alex, I might just have to send the lads round to remove Clive's listening room and kit Listening to that system would help a fevered tentacled brow relax and allow the schemes of world and universal domination to come forth.

Quick question (s) Clive... Are the two full rangers wired in parallel? and it appears you have two tweeters attached, or is one not in use?
