The 303 inverts absolute phase. try running the red speaker plugs into the black sockets etc. just at the amp end and see if you can hear a difference...
I can't go on and I can't go back, I don't feel so matter of fact,
I tried and tried to make good sense, What's the good to try it all again?

Thanks Dave I'll try that. My stepson (who rarely comments on such things) did say he thought the radio announcer sounded like he had a frog in his throat, I hadn't taken much notice as it was just on in the background.

Sounded better (once I'd stopped the right hand speaker plugs touching)

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Got these this morning, MS Classic 40s, they don't sound half bad on the end of the 303

Mint condition with all the paperwork, originally purchased in 1992 (I'll wager these cones have never moved like they are doing now!)

They look brand new. What happens down there in Dagenham do folk just leave mint condition equipment by the side of the road?

Dagenham! How very dare you. Not quite by the side of the road but in the same road as the Romford branch of Aldis.

Bought cos I got hooked up in a bidding war on ebay, set of 5:1 Eltax AV speakers. The big uns sound surprisingly good hooked up to system 2 & the rears are doing well on the end of the Teac in the kitchen - can't odds that for £26!
