I've been using Monster interconnects(2metre ones) and its been fine. My streaming was pretty good but this combo is better.

Dynamic Range Compression
Dynamic range compression (DRC) improves the overall listening experience. Typical music signals are
characterized by crest factors (the ratio of peak signal power to average signal power) of 12dB or more. To avoid
audible distortion due to clipping of peak signals, the gain of the DAC channel must be adjusted so as not to
cause hard clipping. As a result, the low applied gain during nominal periods causes the perception that the
signal is not loud enough. To overcome this problem, the DRC in the PCM512x continuously monitors the output
of the DAC Digital Volume control to detect its power level with respect to 0dB full-scale. When the power level is
low, the DRC increases the input signal gain to make it sound louder, and reduces the gain during peaks to
avoid hard clipping. The DRC enables louder audio during nominal periods with a clearer, more pleasant
listening experience.

Really interested to see how it compares to using my Pi with my DAC!
Do you guys think it will be better - everyone seems to think it is great.
I will be using it with my Chord Chameleon Silver Plus interconnects - I hope these will match the DAC+ well and I don't have the problems some have had with interconnects.
New or S/H?
Note the interconnect experiences of others if you don't enjoy it. I found the Headphone output to HD600s very enjoyable.
I found it like a clearer window onto your music.

As I cant remember where I said I would do this I will post it in a few places..
just a wee update.I connected up my mf buffer to the rpi iqdac combo. Sounds different with more bass and better depth to the sound especially behind the speakers .. of course its a better than average buffer so cannot say what a Chinese one would do for it. I had a yaqin buffer but it was no match for this one..Will leave it in for a while then remove and see if I want it back or not. I hope i dont as I like it with my cd player and dont want to buy another

Ok so my pi experiments continue nicely and now I'm ready to try bypassing the pre and straight into my 300 SET as per Marco's very first post on the subject a billion posts ago.
Given that I'm happy with volume on the pre at a third(ish), i predict the volume direct into the power amp is going to smash the windows. I can dial it back in alsamixer and/or in LOS. Which is best? I've been led to believe software volume decreases quality... thoughts?

Think mine is an x10 v3 ...they are pretty good buffers...I have been running a Pink Floyd modified Music Fidelity X1OD buffer with my setup for a few years now - I know I shouldn't - but the damn thing sounds so good !!!!
