Ridiculous speaker listing. £1800 price, no brand name, no proper picture, no description. Nuts!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

    Bev,

Just a word of caution, Nick from Lockwood tells me there are no spares for System 8s if you should have problem with these

    Hi Bev.

My friend has some 8's in her studio. As Paul said though, parts (for the drivers I take it) are no longer available, make sure they are working well before you shell out the green.

Of course, the crossovers could be fixed/refreshed.

They are very nice indeed, hope you can get them.

Ha , The HMV TT I bought recently came with a 75-6 S stylus , exactly like that !! with a twisted shank ?? is that the right name for the tiny squarish tube? ( I had a 91ED stylus to hand luckily )

Since then the sellers wife came across another in a box ,whilst cleaning , and the seller wants to send it to me for free .(Very nice of him)

Perhaps its another like this one
I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work

I'd assume that "shank" or maybe 'spigot' might be correct. After all the piece you refer to slots into a recess.

Lucky man having an M91ED stylus handy. It's possibly my favourite Shure actually. It just does everything right within its capabilities. Good cartridge. I like the M93ED too.

It's said that the 91ED is basically the same as the 75ED, but I'd swear the 91EDs I've had sounded better.

I just found an old M75 6 myself that I'd forgotten about and bought a Goldring made M75E stylus for it. Not tried it yet, but I'd imagine the Goldring stylus should be good.

    Is this 'snake oil'?

Is anybody likely to part with that much money on something like this.
