I've got a spare pair of alnico magnet Eagle 8" full range drivers from the late sixties. They were actually made by Coral if I'm correct and sound rather nice. They'd probably fit.

Thats really nice of you to offer, but there's cut outs for two 8inch drivers per cab - hence my fancying dc2000's, which have an 8 inch dual and effectively the same speaker sans hf running as a bass helper, just the arrangement these GEC's originally had.Originally Posted by walpurgis

Like these? My old ones from thirty five years ago in full sized horn cabinets, as per Coral spec. They sounded incredible.
Yes, I know the wiring looks dodgy. I was just setting them up and testing before finalising the wiring etc.
That's a pair of tiny horn tweeters below the main drivers, set to come in above 12kHz.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

They sounded a sight better than any Lowther drive units I've tried. In the lower photo that's the 10" unit at the front and the 8" unit at the back. Wish I still had my Beta 10s, they are worth a fortune now.
