Strange, various things, including what is the multimeter reading indicating? I believe a genuine LS3/5a would read less than 15 Ohms.

I couldn't quite make out what these speakers were trying to be.
A sort of 'poor man's LS3/5a' or something else?
There is quite a market for small loudspeakers that look and sound like the little BBC speakers.

Yes. I wondered about these. They didn't fetch a fortune though. I see the listing made no mention of the 'period' SEAS tweeter, which is probably not a bad choice to match with the B110, assuming the crossover is adequate.

Just poking about in the eBay vinyl. I see 'Aerial' by Kate Bush is not quite commanding the prices it was a year ago. Due no doubt to the Rolf Harris thing. Shame, in some ways it's a superb album (yes, I know it's a 'Marmite' record, some of you hate it). Strangely, I prefer it on CD.

Always liked "the kick inside". thought it was her best. I bought "directors cut" double cd a while ago and thought it was shite.(nice packaging though)

Yes, Kate has done stuff I wasn't keen on and had dodgy quality releases, but other recordings and material are truly wonderful. 'Symphony in Blue' springs to mind.

Decent amp, good sound, good grunt too. Not quite as musical as the 306 in my opinion.

I've just pulled my 405 out of the bag I've been keeping it in. It looks a bit sad for itself. Need to get it serviced, I think. I was considering using it with my denon pma 700ae as a pre-amp. Just because. We'll see. Lots of faffing with speaker wire.

I actually like the Quad 405, along with the mark 2 version.
