Why did you pick them out? Are the speakers good, or just the price?

They are a classic seventies true monitor speaker and well liked here on AOS. Several members use them. Usual price tends to be £100 to £200 depending on condition. These shouldn't be hard to smarten up.

The DM2 was designed as a serious, no compromise speaker to meet the highest domestic and professional (compact studio monitor) standards of its era. Many found their way into recording studios. The 1/8 wavelength transmission line cabinet was unique at the time and worked extremely well. They are very solid and rigid and surprisingly hefty. By domestic standards, the DM2 was up with the best on the British market.

Aye, good speakers the DM2. I found them surprisingly bass light but that was coming from IMF TLS50's... Would be interesting to hear another pair.

Hardly a fair comparison James. Everything sounds bass light next to IMFs.

I know, I know ! Thats why I mentioned it... Calling them bass light out of context would have been misleading. I know Dave successfully used his with a Mini-T amp but I found they needed 100wpc+ to "wake up"... Mind you the same was also true of the IMF's.

What are you saying? I'm pretty sure that if you put a genuine 100 watts through a pair they'd 'fry' in short order!!

(and didn't the B200 in the TLS50 have a 30 watt rating?)
