Why don't you guys ask Stan to look at a faulty Bushmaster you have purchased? After all, if it doesn't work and it's in warranty, that's what you should do. Moaning about it here without listening to a working model hardly helps. Oh, and I have read the complete post.


One more thing: the BM doesn't support 176k and doesn't claim to.

Well this is directly from the 1 page manual that comes with it "Maximum word length is 24 bits. Sample rates between 28 and 192 KHz are supported"...I don't see anything in there that says "well except for 176 KHz"...maybe it's just me but I thought 176 KHz fell somewhere between 28 and 192 KHz doesn't it? Ok go ahead and try to correct me again with some more of your factless logic. Here is the real truth for you, all people don't have the same luck with the same product and someone politely stating so shouldn't upset you so much but if you are going to make statements such as "doesn't support 176k and doesn't claim to" you need to maybe do a little research first.

I don't think MartinT is the one that is upset here. You obviously received a faulty BM so the logical thing would be to contact Stan instead of complaining about it in this topic. It is common knowledge that man made hardware isn't flawless. Do yourself (and us) a favour and inform the designer instead of us. Maybe Stan can use your information in his future designs so we can all benefit from it. Posting here that you bought a Rega dac instead hardly helps. Peace.

Guess you didn't read my entire post...the answer is in there and like I said it wouldn't play anything above 96k via toslink and it wouldn't play any of my 176k files and I have quite a few of those. I can play all signals up to 192k with the Rega with either coax or toslink and I just happen to like toslink better so that works for me.

It looks like you trying to say that we only should post positive remarks about Bushmaster. Shouldn't we post anything what is related to Bushmaster, including faulty ones, or negative feedback. Where do I post that? My returned Bushmaster did not sound as good (of course it is subjective, but I tested it against low and high level of other devices, but sound was nothing to be talking about), as yours or MartinT one.
Or do we need to open another thread? Or another forum?

Good grief, I'm not upset! I just wonder at someone buying an item which is obviously faulty and then not contacting the manufacturer or invoking the warranty process.

Nothing at all I'd say.

Except the other 99.9% of us with Bm2's that sound superb perhaps wonder why you didn't just persevere a little more, after all, as I said before, Stan is a most reasonable man, and accepts people into his home/work place happily.

Well Robo and I were very polite. If I go to a forum and every post is a glowing endorsement it makes me suspicious of the moderators removing unfavorable posts. We didn't have the great experience with the bushmaster that other did and the problems we ran into should be posted. We didn't come on here and scream that the bushmaster is a POS or anything like that. If the Bushmaster won't play 176 KHz files or play anything above 96 KHz via optical others should know that, that would have been a deal breaker for me. Now with that being said I liked the bushmaster while it was working and Stan was great to deal with. I thought maybe something was wrong with my hi-rez streamer to the DAC and didn't know until I got another DAC in my home and was able to test. Well the other DAC just happened to be the Rega and every sample rate I threw at it just worked, on optical and coax. Again no one here said anything bad about Stan and all opinions should be respected, we don't need anyone criticizing us for what we did or didn't do. I had a new DAC that played all sample rates even via optical so I just kept it and moved on, nothing wrong with that.

Indeed, Bobby, and it was only this comment that made me wonder if you had experienced problems with the BM and put it away without contacting Stan.

After a while it wouldn't recognize any signals at all so I threw it in the closet and replaced with a Rega DAC.

I am not asking for glowing praise. All comments are welcome. That's the one way I get an idea of what the problems are and what the good points are. It is well known that I had some problems with the firmware code in the TC-7530DC in the first production from 2012. Since then I have released a couple of updates until the problems were finally solved in the code update from April 2013. Subsequent code releases have further enhanced the basic TC-7530DC from its initial performance abilities. Anyone who asked for a refund instead of a code update at the time were given a refund. But the actual numbers are less than 10 compared to a total sale of close to 1K.
What I am a bit puzzled by is why two customers who bought the TC-7530DC between July 2012 and August 2012 would then come here in March 2014 to complain with obvious bitterness.
