    AFAIK they were made by a Romanian hobbyist that wound his own transformers thus keeping costs down.

    AmDismal over on HFWW used to own one so could be worth asking ? IMO it looks horrible, I wouldnt pay more than £100 for it but each to their own & all that

    Exactly ! Completely spoils it IMO... What's it there for anyway ? Solid state rectifier bridge on the underside probably
