Having had a Quad 77 for sometime now I thought I'd find out what one of these sounds like, heavy little buggers aren't they!
Using it straight from a variable line out on a Pioneer CDP it sounds rather good!

Been having a 'play', forgot the 77 has a pre out -
Sound seems to have more 'poke' than the 77.

(Arghhh! what's that second from the bottom?... just helps with my sometimes very bright speakers)

Very soon after I got the 405-2 I know but a surprise ebay win! (makes a nice change not to get sniped) Cosmetically a little challenged (perhaps that's what put people off). Currently playing some Porcupine Tree & sounding excellent
And it's the best I've ever heard these sound
Think my problem with them is that, to me, they've always seemed slightly muffled compared to the cheaper bright speakers I'm used to but with the 306 they seem to have a more 'grown up' sound.
