I'm Tony.
Well I've been listening to the Arkless for about a month now and have been very happy with it but something odd has happened since the weekend, the sound has opened up big time
Now I don't know if my integrated amp is playing up as I've been switching amps over and pulling cables out of the main amp to swap over to the Sony that I sold last week or the Arkless has changed a bit but my vinyl front end is sounding fantastic right now.
I'm just about to replace the stock arm in the next couple of weeks so that should be interesting.
For ref, I'm using a refurbed A&R A60 integrated amp feeding a pair of JR149s with a Technics SL-1200 mk2 & Timestep PSU, the aforementioned Arkless CA 640 phono amp, cart is an SAE 1000LT HOMC on the stock arm with a Technics headshell, Funk achromat, Isonoes and techniboots.
Pulling cables in and out does help to remove oxidation & improve conductivity across the contact length.
Before people plug new cables into their system, they should experiment with plugging the existing ones in and out a few times, leave them in for a while, and then try the new ones.
Am not convinced that there's been a sudden burn-in considering that you have been using the unit for about a month & haven't heard a changing character since then.

I agree with you, I think that there's something going on with the integrated.
It's either dodgy or I've not had the cables/rca plugs pushed firmly in since the last time I moved the amp about.
BTW, the integrated has Din conectors which I use with adaptors except for the tuner which has a din cable for both ends (amp and tuner).
