They do work. However, like Mark, I've not had problems with static in my situation - well, not for many years.

Is it effective with anti-stat sleeves only, or do you really need the RCM?
I have to balance my upgrades against the house renovation, so I need to chose carefully.
How many records do you own?
A machine is one of the best investments you can make if your discs number more than a couple of hundred. Not only will they sound better but your cartridge will last a lot longer.
