    Nice! That Phillips tweeter is a bit fierce though, it's the same one Goodmans used in the SL series. The speakers are well worth going for all the same.

    Wahts up with the HF1300s on these? Is that a standard added ring round them on some models? Great price at the mo.

    Celestion screwed them to the outside of the baffle on this model whereas other manufacturers would secure to the inside face of the baffle, thus recessing the majority of the tweeter body

    Ah, I did wonder as on the pair I had, they were fitted from the inside as standard. Didn't realise there were different versions.

    CD Player: Audiocom-modified Sony X-777ES/DAS-R1 DAC.

    Tape Deck: Tandberg TCD 310, fully restored and recalibrated as new by RDE, plus upgraded with heads from the TCD-420a. Also with matching TM4 Norway microphones.

    Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp, fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.

    Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.

    Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

    Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

    The Braun stuff goes for plenty these days. That reel to reel would be atmospherically priced.

    I'd have to agree. Althought as you know the RT-909 is one of my all time faves. But the Braun is something very special indeed. Although I'd not be able to get on with the small reels... lol
