    Yes, plenty of work Geoff. I've got the Magnums and fancied the bigger version. It's a bit of fun and I'll just take my time. I did get the vinyl to go back on a Magnum driver using a hairdrier. It lifted again after a while though. I'm thinking maybe hairdrier plus spraymount this time. If not I'll give your idea a go. I will need to see, what, if anything, works first. I imagine the Bass driver would be the most resilient wouldn't it?

    Tape Deck: Tandberg TCD 310, fully restored and recalibrated as new by RDE, plus upgraded with heads from the TCD-420a. Also with matching TM4 Norway microphones.

    Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp, fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.

    Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.

    Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

    Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

    New System (so far): Meridian 506 CD/ALAC -> Unison Research Little Italy -> Spendor S5e
    Secondary system: Airport Express -> BeoLab 3 Speakers (still need replacing - too fatiguing)
    TV Room: Marantz NR 1504-> Usher S520/525 speakers
    Original System: NAD C541 CD Player -> NAD C340 Amp -> lamp cord -> B&W CM2 Speakers, Ipod/Itunes ALAC- secondary source

    The earlier Goodmans drivers had just the surround in vinyl anyway, the full skin came later, so it will probably work fine with the skin off. The cones are of high quality felted pulp and self damp well anyway. Yes the bass driver should be the toughest.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
