Was watching her perform the Tchaikovsky with Dutoit on YouTube last night - just mesmerizing. She and Ashkenazy are my all-time favourites.

Her Rach 3rd is equally mesmerising. For me, Lupu's Grieg is equally extraordinary.

What a stupendous symphony - and recording! WOW !!

Also Bruckner "nullte" symphony; the so-called number zero. Conducted by Ferdinand Leitner - a fine symphony but a very lax and uneventful performance under Leitner.

Not that I imagine anyone cares, but vivaldis l'estro armonico and then, having a seriuosly baroque spell, to my total joy and anazement my dads copy of david oistrach playing the bach double violin concerto has succunbed to the Marco moth rcm treatment and is sublime beyond belief.
This awesome bloody amplifier, like a valve giant, is making the sweetest music at levels nearly too quiet to here. Lost for words

hmmm - don't know the Bach Double - will check it out ... Awesome violinist - I can thoroughly recommend Oistrakh's recording of the Sibelius on Melodiya.

I love the double. I have anne sophie mutters version too, but not in this class. With his brother igor.
But the missus has dug up her as Susannah in les nozzes. Odd she's singing and sitting next to me

Yup. That's the one. Beautiful - perhaps one of my favourites. And preferred to asm's interpretation. A treat that the old dg vinyl has scrubbed up so well
