This seller has obviously got fed up. I've seen this pair listed numerous times. As you say they can't be that bad. They use a version of the Tannoy/Goodmans Imagio DCT driver, which usually sounds OK.

They're not that great, to be honest. The cabinets are pretty lightweight and surprisingly shallow, as I recall.

If you want to hear some ICT driver magic, stick to a pair of Goodmans Imagios and make sure the treble sections of the drivers are working properly, unlike one of the drivers on my pair of mint, boxed Imagio IC318s!

For a fiver's worth, they're probably fantastic.

I've owned Goodmans Imagios and "magic" isn't really the word that springs to my mind. They're OK, but rather two dimensional compared to 6" Tannoys for instance.

Pretty much, yes. The matching VS300 floorstanders were two ways with a separate mid/bass unit and tweeter - make of this what you will...

Yes, I concur they're not to Tannoy standard, but for a fairly novel idea that mostly ended up in cars, they made some nice noises. Out of interest, which Imagios did you have? I've heard nearly all of the 100, 200 and 300 series and the IC258TLs I owned still rank as one of the most frustrating speakers I've ever owned - they could sound really dull with some recordings/partnering equipment, but when all the sonic planets aligned and they came on song, I heard them do some things that I have heard few similar speakers do better. I regret selling them and would love another pair but they didn't make very many.

They use the same type of driver as the Mordaunt Shorts in question. Similar to the Imagios.

Out of interest, which Imagios did you have?

The single driver 100s. I thought they had a purer sound to the larger systems with multiple drivers. I tried them alongside a pair of Tannoy i6 units I'd put into larger cabinets and the Imagios unfortunately did not really compete. And of course neither speaker was a serious alternative to my larger proper DC Tannoys.
