Personally I would prefer not to solder the 4032 in place. The option to try other op-amps in the future is a nice thought. Who knows what will be developed in the future?
If people start reporting faults maybe I will change back to a slower op-amp but it will seem like a backward step.

Don't want to spoil someone's pudding ("Braindead") but imho i saw posts indicating there may be other valid options than the THS4032. Maybe one does have to hear in direct comparison. Also, it seems it's a matter of personal preference at a certain grade of quality.

Of course its all subjective, but the 4032 seems GENERALLY to be the preferred one?

Some input from Stan would be useful. It seems he has knowledge of people whose DACs have died due plugging in a 4032 but no one on AOS has come clean on this. It's hard quantify the risk

Wishing there was a PSU thread and an OpAmp thread so we can concentrate here!! The new Tirna 4032 (after about 20 hours) now sounds great, and the 4562 in the HPA. As mentioned, 2 Tirna 4032s is a no-go, and fairly annoying from a consumer standpoint.

I've asked twice, try again: Is there any strange affect from having the cap on the Tirna and the cap across the same pins that Stan already has on the board?? If you chose to solder the 4032 to the board, would you remove Tirna's?? If I did it that way, anyone's guess on if I could use both 4032s without the distortion/noise in the HPA I was experiencing?

I would think you want the Tirna cap there as it's really close to the chip. Whether you remove Stan's cap is open to question.

As I understand it, the decoupling cap on the Tirna mod is connected directly to the adapter pins, so would have little or no effect if the adapter was soldered directly to the PCB. There is still a short length of track on the adapter board connecting the SOIC pins to the adapter pins which could have some effect on performance. When I did the mod, I soldered the cap directly to the SOIC pins 4 & 8 (see post 43).
If you really do want to go ahead and solder the adapter to the PCB (I wouldn't personally), you could try it without the cap, and add it later if you get problems.
