WTB: Celestion Ditton 33 or 44
Hi All,
I've been on the lookout for a while but not managed to ever bag a set.
I am looking for a set of 33s or 44s, and you must be willing to ship to Ireland. I will of course cover costs.
Would prefer the versions with the veneered front baffle, but I am quite open to what's out there.

Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp, fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.
Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.
Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.
Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

Hi,
I have tried a quite a few pairs of Dittons over the years, 10s, 11s, 15s, 15XR, 25s, 33s, and 44s.
I found the 33s every bit as good as the 44s.
The only ones i have hung on to are the 11s, and 33sThough my 11s are on permanent loan to my son.
I found the 33s have a great synergy with the A&R A60, with sound quality way above the cost.

They're all good, but if you want genuine deep bass (count me in), there is only one choice: the 66s!

I am starting to feel it should be a set of Celestion Ditton 33s that I must get my hands on.
Reasons:
- Form factor: They are not so big as to overwhelm my office space.
- Opinions: The folks on the thread so far are telling me nothing but good stuff about the 33s (Yes, Marco, the 66s would be amazing, but budget and space considerations would make it a bad move)
- Price: The 44s come up often enough on ebay, but their prices can be all over the place, plus its very hard to convince anyone to ship the 44s overseas.
All I need now is a willing donor.
