Jessye Norman talking about Beim Schlafengehen. My second favourite classical song sung by my favourite soprano. That section alone was worth the whole series.

Just been watching Dora O Briain's Science Club: Music on BBC 2. Covered a number of very interesting aspects including cutting a valve down to look at its construction.
If you have the BBC i-player it's well worth a watch .

Quite a good program (watched on iplayer). Now kicking myself for ignoring the previous episodes. They were a bit worried that the guest expert had destroyed a rare Telecaster but he said it was put back together - think that valve was a write off though. Brushed over the issue of computer music/autotune. It worries me someone teaching music/recording is pushing that technique as beneficial. Why didn't they show a 'proper' recording studio? The limit of hearing was interesting. I thought I could hear something at around 13khz over computer speakers (but even a couple of young audience members only reached 18khz).
