Let The Right One In [dvd]

A slow burning, mesmerising, wonderfully performed and chilling love story. Boy-meets-vampire. If you like good Scandinavian drama (The Bridge, the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Wallander) then you'll love this. I haven't enjoyed a film as much as this one for a long time.

Fantastic film Martin. Avoid the dreadful American version.

I think you need to read the book, as that explains the brief non sequitur shot which shows the vampire child plainly is a girl.

Off for a lay down & a film As I appear to have been watching a series about a load of nuclear bombs going off in USA, I might as well carry on with a film of the same

    The Day After

Hopefully see you all again tomorrow folks

Just watched The Boy In The Stripped Pyjamas One of the most harrowing films I have seen in quite awhile because it is so subtle in how things are portrayed - such terrible horrors being seen through the eyes of a child. It could be said that the camp commandant gets his just deserts in what happens but Bruno is such a lovely innocent, caring child............ I take my hat off to the writer of this book for such a kick to the guts ending.

That's how I feel about avatars too, Tim. I like that one, Mark, and I just had to go back to my trusty old one too.
