Very nice, and undoubtedly a total bargain, but what drive units do these use? They look 'modern' (as in post-1960s)...
For me, 'where it's at' with big Tannoys, is very much with the old Monitor Series, whether 12 or 15" Golds, Reds, Silvers or Blacks. After that, the cabinet you put them in, and the crossovers you use, play a MASSIVE part in what you'll hear!
'Modern' Tannoy drive units (read as produced after the 1960s) just don't have the same addictive musicality, especially when used with up-to-date top-notch crossovers, using the best modern components.
