Yes, its funny how you get two (or more) bits of Hi-Fi hardware that seem to have an affinity to working together. I thought I had the magic combination years ago, using a Decca 4RC into a Rappaport Pre1. It was a superb combination.

The odd thing is i can blindly select out any of my vintage articles, put a system together & they will work harmoniously (none were bought to match), this doesnt happen these days imho.

Just bagged this, as I'd sold my CR-7 to a friend earlier in the year (it wasn't getting the use it deserved), and I needed a half-decent tape deck to make compliations of music for playing in the car, after my Technics tape deck packed in recently:

I use one of these "'second devision' Naks", for years along with a BX-2. Made up 200 - 300 tapes over the years, mostly for the car.
I believe you have a sackful of tapes to feed your new aquisition.

It'll take me back to when I was 18, as I had the very same model as part of my first 'serious' hi-fi system in my bedroom of my parent's house in Glasgow. I think that I paid around £250 for it then, brand new, (earned from working many days in my dad's chip shop), which was a fair chunk of dosh in those days!
There's something about the quality of 1980s vintage Naks, which for me was lost in the later models. I was never a big fan of the DR range, for example. I had a DR-10, which never really did it for me, before getting the CR-7, which was a different world.
Plus the guy has been a real gent to deal with so far. I should get it on Tuesday, so I'll be putting it through its paces then!
