Off to see Ozric Tentacles tonight. Not the classic early 90's lineup but Jumpin' Jon Egan is supporting tonight with his outfit Champignon, hopefully he might join the rest of the band again for a rendition of Eternal Wheel?! Here's hoping.

Got my ticket this morning Martin, Level 1 Unreserved - these have now sold out. Standing and Levels 2 & 3 left, so I wouldn't hang around if you want to go.

They were at their peak in the early 90's. They were very good the other night as well, which was a real shock. The lineup has changed a lot, only Ed remains consistent, but the band is very tight; Brandi on bass and Ollie, in particular. It seems they live for the music and Ed's guitar is fantastic. They were always best live versus on record. I'm not sure if the Phoenix would have been the best venue to enjoy the Ozrics. They can work very well in a tent, but stick them on the main stage in front of an indifferent audience I think the magic would be lost.
PS. I know they're 30 years too late for you Andr'e!

Fantastic stuff. I really like these guys and I have most of their albums. I am normally pretty hard on groups that are ....well....clones of others. Gong, Steve Hillage, System 7 and Hawkwind all leap to mind re Ozrics but I still like them.

There is a very clear influence, but Ozrics do their own thing, and after nearly 30 years they have many clones of their own now! If you like their stuff, a lot, check out their website where you can get unreleased and live stuff in FLAC format. Proper price for an album's worth of material, but they deserve to make a living. It's nice to be able to hear some of the offshoots properly, like Nodens Ictus, one of their more ambient side-projects.
