I have seen a few models of the original 105, there was a smaller version with a single 12" driver & there was another with 2 x 8" B200 drivers just to confuse things

Actually it might have been a 10" in the smaller 105, but I feel sure it was still the 12" B300.

The B139 was used in the KEF Concerto.
But it was also used by many other companies. The IMF TLS80, Linn Isobaric, and Chris Rogers Pro9TK are ones that spring to mind.

I can't remember the size of the bass drivers, but you are thinking of the KEF 105.3.

No I'm not The 105/3 had internally mounted 8" bass drivers in a 4th order bandpass venting from under a stack of three drivers in a seperate module on the front...

I know what the 105/3 looks like as I always lusted after them years ago

You are right. There was no 105.3. It was a 105/3. I meant to type 105.4, but after about 30 years it is quite difficult to remember which ones had a dot or a /.

Had a garage loads of brand new 103/4s, 104/3s and 105/3s which were totally different beasts. Still have a pair of 103/4s never out of box. I turn them every year. Can only remember they sounded better than Ref 1 and 2s. Any idea if they are worth anything these days?

I should imagine so, yes. The thing is Kef lost the plot a bit & used foam surrounds on the bass drivers, which means they perish over time

I have no idea how difficult it'd be to get inside the enclosures & fish out the drivers, but the coupling rod that locks the drivers together sure as hell won't make things any easier

Yes, about the plot, in fact nearly lost the lot. We also heard rumours that another southern speaker company designed their speaker size by the carton size so as to be able to fill a container to its' maximum.

Foam, yes, recently aware of this. I think it may be time to get down and dirty as I believe access is gained through the bottom and removal of the speaker post plate. These are from the last batch made and still had metal rods before the next Ref series used plastic rods.

Maybe better to sell them as "Fresh Maidstone air from early 90's" ugh!

Interesting speakers

Oh yes, AR LSTs were the real deal. No picture of the drivers and I wonder if the 'acoustic suspension' has survived. Could be a bargain at that price.
