It's for disabling the strobe light (without removing it completely) - it's the last of the KAB mods I'd originally had carried out to the turntable
I think you'll be delighted with the effect of the regulator boards. Have you got, or are you getting, an SR7EHD to partner them?

Main System
Turntable: Heavily-modified Technics SL-1210MK5G [Mike New bearing/ETP platter/Paul Hynes SR7 PSU & regulator mods]. Funk Firm APM Achromat with Nagaoka GL-601 Crystal Record Weight. Isonoe feet & boots. Ortofon RS-212D tonearm with Denon DL-103GL, in a Denon PCL-300 headshell, fitted with Funk Firm Houdini and Kondo SL-115 pure-silver cartridge leads.
Paul Hynes MC head amp/SR5 PSU. Also modded Lentek head amp and Denon AU-310 SUT.
Other Cartridges: Nippon Columbia (NOS 1987) Denon DL-103. USA-made Shure SC35C with NOS stylus. Goldring G820 with NOS stylus. Shure M55E with NOS stylus.
CD Player: Audiocom-modified Sony X-777ES/DAS-R1 DAC.
Tape Deck: Tandberg TCD 310, fully restored and recalibrated as new by RDE, plus upgraded with heads from the TCD-420a. Also with matching TM4 Norway microphones.
Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp, fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.
Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.
Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.
Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

Oh, I see now. At first I thought it was part of regulators upgrade, but Paul didn't recognized it when I asked him about it
At the moment there are no founds left for such an upgrade as SR7EHD, as I have bought SR5 less than a year ago and I still didn't give it enough time for fully evaluated its superbness
I shall wait for next SR PS from Paul, I'm sure he wont stop here with SR7
My order for an SR7EHD-27 is in with Paul
I wonder how it will sound against the SR5-27, given that I have all the internal regs installed? My experience of PSUs is that you can never have enough 'grunt'.

If by XL version you mean Clearsilver internal wiring, then yes. I already have a Clearsilver flying lead with 4-pin XLR connector. If you mean the different connector, then I prefer to keep with the 4-pin XLR standard.
Indeed, John, as I have all the internal regs done already the SR7 will be the final piece of the PSU upgrade for me.

The XL version contains such goodies as :-
"I also make an XL version of the SR7EHD power supply and this uses Teflon boards for the regulator circuitry with rolled copper foils (not electro-deposited copper), Vishay bulk foil resistors and Silmic II capacitors. This level of build quality does start getting expensive, especially with one off orders for the Teflon boards."
The cost is about £1.4K

Andy, this sounds kind of excessive seeing as there will be some very high quality regulators following the PSU itself inside the TechieOk, I may be proven wrong, but with two stages of regulation & I'm assuming the same VA of transformer there isn't or shouldn't be the need to go nuts as there would be with just the PSU itself & no regulators following it.
Though if you want the last word in performance then I guess it's probably worth that extra outlay, though whether you'll hear the difference with another regulator (or more) following it I would draw into question...
