My System:
Power: Belkin PF40, Custom.hifi.cables Hydra and DC PSUs.
Sources: Self built HTPC with Xonar ST sound card, NAD T585 multi disc player, Sony BDP-S350, Squeezebox Touch, Techncs SL1210 (mod'd) + Nagaoka MP30, Thomson Sky HD box.
Amps etc.: 2 x Mini-T amps, MF-X10D Valve buffer clone, StanDAC 7520/Caiman (mod'd).
Speakers: Mission 774s with added super tweeters
Cables: best I can afford and likely to change except Homar's RF attenuated co-ax's and Mark Grant USB and HDMI cables. I also like silver i/cs and speaker cable.
I had rather a nice vinyl setup once Martin. I can't say I miss it.
I reckon you should get sorted pretty quick.
The touch is a great bit of kit but if you find you like file based audio, I dare say it wont be long before you've built a really good quality server. You should have the building skills and I really can't see a bit of scripting and a few code changes being beyond your knowledge.

I now have a Spotify Premium account and am streaming hi-bitrate to the Touch (it did crash and reboot after I upgraded to Premium and changed the settings, but has now settled down).
It's amazing sitting down in front of the 'big rig' with the iPad on my lap and being able to call up almost anything on Spotify, like having John Peel's library in my hands. This will help me target my buying even more accurately and only order CDs I know I like.
