See if you can find the Play DVD cheap Martin, you more than likely will not be disappointed, I was always blown away by the Porcerlain vid even when I only had a 720P projector. Can't say I'm in the least disappointed with any of the others either, yet now I'm used to BD

The more things change, the more they stay the same

Hope 2012 is good for you & yours John, & I hope I work out this problem

I will given time, I just had to break from it so logged in here where it's easier & I don't have to think about it

I have a confession to make I played a BD the other day & I couldn't no matter what I did play the movie

The following day I decided to spin every BD I own to find out what will & won't play on the Oppo, as you do.... After about 4 hours I'd gotten through to films beginning with 'C' I also found an amazing amount of stuff with full HD sound, some types I'd never even heard of! Do get Baraka (24 bit 96KHz 5.1 PCM )...

Anyway I decided to spin the disc that wouldn't play again, so I opened up the BD case & discovered that there was a second disc & I was spinning the extras disc previously BD1 was in the left hand cover So that was a load of hours wasted, but I discovered loads of new stuff!

My mistake may well have been worth it

So find yourself a copy of 'Baraka' 24 bit 96KHz 5.1 surround

Yes, the PCM option is the best if it's there

I was still blown away by the sound of DTS-MA on all the discs I accessed, I was gobsmacked at all the BDs that had Dolby True HD & while it wasn't as good as DTS-MA it wasn't to be sniffed at imho...

Tended to be recorded at a lower level than DTS-MA, so turn it up a bit & you can be just as scared stupid
