Hello from Alexey (Russia, Moscow)

Hi everyone!
As you can see from the topic, I live in Russia, Moscow.

I really like this forum and thanks to you guys, i have bought jelco 750d arm and isonoe footers for my deck. First steps...
I made my first steps in hi-fi when I was 8 or 9 y.o. My father bought some good equipment and built himself a 4 way speakers (with 2 large paper woofers). So from then, I was always in love with good sound.

Since I started to leave apart from my parents, form time to time I was thinking to build my own system. After visiting one of my friends and having the chance to listen to his new system (he had some Boston speakers, rotel amp and cd player (1072) and yamaha receiver) I was impressed... Then he has switched to vintage equipment (marantz amp, yamaha 1000 turntable and technics speackers (don't remember the model). Again WOW. From now on I started to prepare myself and my wife for the upcoming purchase... Budget discussion and so on...
And here we are! I did it!
My first system was QUAD 22L2 speakers, Musical fidelity A3.5 amp and CD. the amp and CD I changed to QUAD qc24 pre amp, Quad 99 stereo amp and 99 CDS CD player. After another 6 month I have sold the stereo amp and purchased QUAD II-forty valve amps. from that time and untill now they are with me.

Next step was to buy the turntable. I was looking on tt's up to 3000$.
From many people I've got the advice to buy the technics sl1200 mk2 or above. In Moscow the cost was around 1600$ for an new mk2 and over 2000$ for an mk5 So I decided to look for another tt.
But in Paris I've found new one for just 800$... got it!
The sound was really good. Better than my CD player for sure. Much better. But then I've found this forum, and started to think how to improve my deck. First improvements I already described above. Looking for more!
Next step is external PSU and new Oyaide carbon headshell. New cartridge. Long way...

So my current system is:
Quad 22L2 speackers (will replace them later)
Quad II forty 40watts valve amps
Quad QC 24 pre amp
Quad QC 24 P phono amp
Technics SL 1200 mk2 with Jelco 750D tonearm and isonoe footers
Benz-Micro silver MC cart
Quad CDS 99
The Anti cables - interconnect cables
The Anti cables - speaker cables
Power cords are standard except one for Quad QC 24 P phono amp - Isotek premium.

So what type of music do you listen to? I'll be honest & say I really haven't got a clue about what would be available in Russia

I like rock, classic and jazz music. Due to my daughter is quite young (1 year and 4 month) most of my hard rock records are "on hold" But some light rock I still listen and my girl also like it! My daughter!
My LP collection just started since June 2011 so I can't say I've got plenty of records at the moment (around 50 something) Most of them I've purchased in UK.

To Alex UK: I was considering to change my speakers this year but wasn't sure how long they will survive under "pressure"

By the end of next week will post my system pictures.

P.S. Mark, unfortunately I'm not an often guest in the UK... Once per year maybe. But I'd like to visit it more often... I love your country! Next time I'd like to visit Scotland (I'm fond of single malt whisky).
