Aye, i must admit that when i first sat down to watch the first season it did take a while to get used to the new actors All of about one episode if i remember correctly, after that it just kind of melded together...

I was also impressed by the acting of Summer Glau, though i just couln't get Serenity & i haven't managed to watch the whole film yet Ok perhaps she's a female Keanu Reeves & needs to be put in some kind of wooden position to work, good as a female terminator though - time will tell i guess

Lena Heady is definately more attractive than Linda Hamilton, even though they aren't too much different looks wise... +1

I loved Firefly and Serenity. Really different and good to watch, with interesting interactions between the main characters and the strange 'space cowboys' slant to them. The opening sequence in Serenity is brilliant!

Just FYI: at least one season of Spooks is available free on BlinkBox, possibly two. Have to pay for t'rest tho.

I've seen them all, Simon. The new series is on Sunday 9pm BBC One HD. One of the best British drama series ever

I agree, Martin, Firefly and Serenity are excellent. Joss Whedon is a great screenwriter/director, and I was a _big_ fan of BTVS in the day. The episode, "Once More, With Feeling," is so good I sometimes wonder how so much talent can exist in just one man. Firefly - man, shame it was cancelled, but the network was apparently a little dismayed at some of its underlying (and not-so-underlying) messages, buggered around with its schedule and the episode order, then axed it. Boo! Hence Serenity, which is a fitting end to the serial - and yes, what an opening sequence!
Must get round to watching Dollhouse one of these days, another of Joss Whedon's short-lived ventures.
Oh, yeah, and Jonboy: why the head-scratching over United '93? Could you elaborate? I thought it was an efficient and largely non-melodramatic portrayal of the events.

I got Firefly in a sale many moons ago now - think I paid £13 for the whole series. bought it as it looked interesting and really enjoyed it. thought the film was pretty decent as well.

Never realised at the time that I got the series that it had been cancelled in the US without all the episodes being shown. Really confused as to why it never took off as I thought it was frsh and had a good slant on the usual sci-fi theme as you mention with the cowboy feel to it.

Just completed a re-visit of season 2 of The Sopranos - my favourite season - I love Ritchie Aprile - for me he was the best of Tony's enemies. 'And don't give me those Manson lamps!'

The scene in which Paulie Walnuts visits the psychic and discovers that he is being trailed by the ghosts of all the people he has whacked over the years is incredibly funny. Brilliant series just a shame it is no more...
